Accessibility statement.

Last updated: 25 September 2026

At Epassi Deutschland, we consider it important to deliver benefits that are available to every employee and offer unrestricted access to health and wellbeing in everyday life. We strive to make our products accessible in compliance with the German Act on Strengthening Accessibility (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz) of 16 June 2021 and EU Directive 2016/2102.

Inaccessible content

The following applications do not yet fully meet the requirements:

  • The https://epassi.de/ website
  • The Hansefit app
  • Prevention courses on the Fitbase course portal
  • The Step Challenge app
  • The Epassi app

Accessibility Non-Conformities – Epassi App

The following content and/or functionalities do not yet meet the requirements (These reference WCAG 2.2):

  • Some images and icons don’t have text alternatives or are marked as informative when they are purely decorative, causing screen readers to announce them without adding meaningful information. This affects the registration and login flow, support contact option, benefit selection, wallet, partner photo carousels, partner map view, and checkout. (WCAG 1.1.1)
  • In several parts of the app, visual relationships between elements, such as labels and their values, warnings associated with actions, or items grouped under a section heading, aren’t available programmatically. Screen readers announce these elements without their context, meaning users who rely on assistive technology receive less information than sighted users. This affects registration and login, profile, open source licences, benefit selection, employer settings, feedback form, benefits, home, wallet, voucher redeeming, voucher wallet, and partner profiles. (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • In some views, the reading order presented to screen readers doesn’t follow the visual order. For example, expand controls are announced before the content they expand, and the form field order doesn’t match the visual layout. This affects account creation, profile, employer settings, home, and partner profile screens. (WCAG 1.3.2)
  • One instruction refers to content using its spatial position („the mandate above“), which doesn’t convey a meaning to users who cannot perceive the visual layout. (WCAG 1.3.3)
  • Several screens don’t support text scaling. When the system font size is increased to 200%, content is cut off, hidden or extends beyond the visible area with no way to scroll to it. This affects the wallet, intro screen, open source licence details, onboarding carousel, employer settings, feedback form, benefit selection, and voucher wallet screens. (WCAG 1.4.4)
  • In some parts of the app, the keyboard and screen reader focus order doesn’t follow a meaningful or logical sequence. This affects the onboarding carousel, bottom navigation bar, profile, about Activity Rewards, about Fitness Network, and employer settings screens. (WCAG 2.4.3)
  • Some buttons and links don’t have accessible names that describe their purpose. Screen reader users can’t determine what will happen when they activate these controls. This affects the FAQ screen, benefit selection, and voucher wallet. (WCAG 2.4.4)
  • In the profile photo view, some functionality requires a complex path-based gesture that can’t be performed with a single tap or click, making it inaccessible to users who rely on switch access or simplified pointer input. (WCAG 2.5.1)
  • During OTP (one-time passcode) verification, error messages aren’t associated with the input field they describe and may not be announced by screen readers automatically. (WCAG 3.3.1)
  • Some interactive components don’t correctly expose their name, role or state to assistive technology. In some cases, controls are missing accessible names; in others, elements are announced twice or reported with incorrect states. This affects the open source licences screen, voucher partner selection, feedback form, activity reporting, wallet, partner profile list and map views, and the checkout sharing customiser. (WCAG 4.1.2)
  • During the registration, login and OTP verification flows, status messages such as confirmations and error notifications aren’t announced by screen readers unless the user moves focus to them manually. WCAG 4.1.3)

Wellbeing is for everyone, which is why we’ve made it our goal to remove these non-conformities and ensure our products are accessible.
