Natur- und Familienbad Fümmelsee

Immerse yourself in the Fümmelsee nature and family pool, an idyllic oasis in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony, which has been a popular destination for families and nature lovers since it was taken over by the Wolfenbütteler Schwimmverein von 1921 e.V. in 1924. Embedded in a well-kept and extensive green area, this leisure paradise offers an incomparable experience for young and old.

With a total area of 37,800 m2, including 13,000 m2 of water, Fümmelsee impresses with its crystal-clear water quality. Since 2004, the water has been naturally purified by a unique filter system. The water is fed from the lake into a 300 m2 basin and passes through a plant filter consisting of around 7,000 reed plants. A sand filter under the reeds ensures additional purity. This environmentally friendly method not only ensures excellent water quality, but also protects the environment. In winter, the reeds are mowed and composted to maintain the filter performance.

The spacious bathing lake not only offers space for relaxed swimming laps, but also for various water games and sports. A family-friendly atmosphere is created by the extensive green areas, which offer perfect conditions for a cozy picnic. Various sports facilities such as a beach volleyball and beach soccer pitch, a calisthenics facility and table tennis tables are available, while the spacious children's playground ensures that our younger visitors can also let off steam.

The environmentally friendly design and maintenance of the grounds guarantee a harmonious combination of relaxation and nature. The friendly and dedicated staff ensure that the facilities are always well maintained and are always available to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Free parking spaces are available for all our visitors directly in front of the entrance to make your visit as pleasant as possible. There are also numerous parking facilities for bicycles, making your arrival by bike a breeze.

The Fümmelsee nature and family pool is open to the public from May to September. Club members can also go swimming at their own risk with an early swimmer application from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the season, even without swimming supervision.
