Escrima is a Filipino martial art with strong Spanish influences. It encompasses three disciplines: unarmed combat, impact weapons, and edged weapons.
Training The goal is not merely to learn isolated techniques, but to develop complex combat behavior. Training combines basic techniques (striking drills, footwork, and specific exercises) with sparring—always performed using protective gear. Even individuals of smaller stature or lower athletic ability are empowered to hold their own against physically stronger attackers. Health and a friendly, cooperative atmosphere are top priorities—plus, it’s incredibly fun!
Cadena – Unarmed Combat Unarmed self-defense based on concepts that were even utilized in professional US boxing (Pinoy boxing) between 1920 and 1950.
De Campo – Edged & Paired Weapons Historical fencing styles for armed combat. Mastering weapons enables one to defend against them effectively. A sport that builds character—with opportunities to compete in tournaments.
Baston – Impact Weapons Training with impact weapons and everyday objects; fosters mental resilience and close-quarters combat skills. Particularly well-suited for security personnel. Tournament participation is possible.
